The Quiet Shift

The Quiet Shift

There wasn’t one dramatic moment. No breakdown in a supermarket aisle.
No lightning bolt of clarity.
No big, brave announcement that everything was about to change. It was quieter than that.

There wasn’t one dramatic moment.

No breakdown in a supermarket aisle.
No lightning bolt of clarity.
No big, brave announcement that everything was about to change.

It was quieter than that.

More of a steady unraveling.
A noticing.
A slow realisation that the way I had been living — coping, pushing, holding it all together — was no longer sustainable.

Before Sisters & Sequins, there was Simple Wellbeing.

Simple Wellbeing began because I had to stop.

My body insisted.

Perimenopause doesn’t politely tap you on the shoulder. It shifts your sleep, your tolerance, your focus, your mood. It rearranges your inner landscape. Add burnout. Add years of overgiving. Add a nervous system that had been running on adrenaline for far too long.

Wellbeing stopped being something I taught.
It became something I desperately needed.

So I learned.
I slowed down.
I trained.
I listened.
I held space for women who were also exhausted and overstretched and quietly wondering if they were failing at something everyone else seemed to manage.

But something interesting happens when you start tending to yourself properly.

You begin to hear your own desires more clearly.

When your nervous system settles, your truth gets louder.

And what I began to feel — slowly, then unmistakably — was longing.

Longing for connection.
For community.
For laughter alongside depth.
For spaces where women didn’t have to perform wellness — they could just arrive as they were.

That is where Sisters & Sequins was born.

Not as a rebrand.
Not as a pivot for the sake of growth.
But as an evolution.

Simple Wellbeing was where it began.
Sisters & Sequins is where we are now.

The same roots.
The same commitment to women’s wellbeing — especially through midlife and beyond.
But expanded. Louder. Braver. More communal.

This series is about that quiet shift.

The one that doesn’t look dramatic from the outside.
But changes everything from the inside.

If you’ve been feeling it too — the nudge, the discomfort, the restlessness — stay with me this week.

Because sometimes the biggest changes don’t begin with action.

They begin with honesty.

And if you feel ready to explore your wellbeing more deeply — especially through perimenopause, menopause and beyond — I will be running another retreat later this year. You are very welcome to message me to join the waitlist.
